The closer we get to the date of departure, the cornier, tackier and cheesier I get! Let me illustrate...
- I start singing John Denver's Leaving on the Jet Plane. But because I have a horrible memory, I can only manage the first line. Aloud. Again and again and again. Several times a day. To the utter dismay of the only listener, i.e. my long-suffering husband. >.>
- My calendar is full of crosses on the account of my fervent countdown. I know... eewww...
Not to sound like a total snob, but the last time I did this was 5 years ago when I had to do my 3-month teaching practical in a school run by an incompetent headmistress and a fat lecherous discipline master. Seriously I couldn't wait to finish then. Can I say likewise now? (although the situations aren't quite parallel)
The crosses indicate the days passed.
The circled date is our departure.
The underscored dates denote our (long overdue) mini holiday in Langkawi.
